A Nack For vision

A Nack For Collaboration

Developer Donny Churchman honors his family’s legacy by staying true to his roots. Coming from a long line of visionaries and public servants, you could say cultivating city ideals is just part of his DNA. With a grandmother, Katie Nack, who served on the Pasadena, CA Planning Commission, Unified School District Board of Education, City Council and finally as the city’s Mayor, the growth and development of her city was so important, she devoted her life to making sure her city lived up to its potential. Churchman’s own grandfather, Donald Nack, founded an engineering consulting firm and won multiple lifetime awards for his progressive designs in energy efficiency. Passing the collaborative and innovative torch right down the line, Churchman’s mother served as Economic Developer for two separate counties, his aunt spent a decades long career as a staff employee for major elected officials and his uncle still owns and operates a successful California Engineering firm. From School Superintendants to a City Mayor of one of this country’s finest cities, this family truly has a “Nack” for community outreach.

A Nack For Development

In early 2016, after more than 15 years as a lobbyist in the homebuilding industry, a land acquisition/entitlement executive, a business executive, and a sought-after consultant, Churchman decided to take his experiences from different markets around the country and begin developing real estate projects at home in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Through its many industry contacts and investor relations, Nack Development delivers returns to its investors by acquiring niche development properties, adding value to these properties through the entitlement process and delivering a finished product, that Nack Development, local jurisdictions, investors and the end users can take pride in. Most recently, Nack Development in collaboration with a regional homebuilder, entitled 71 lots in the City of Frisco, TX and sold this property to the third largest production homebuilder in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. Nack is currently working throughout the Metroplex on multiple projects and has quickly developed a reputation as an innovative, honest and transparent company.

A Nack For Placemaking

As a boutique-style Real Estate Development Company, Nack Development believes each community has its own identity that craves a unique design and style to be cultivated. And thus, begins our favorite part. The process of imagining and dreaming the potential of a place that we have a part in creating. By specializing in residential development for homebuilders as well as niche downtown redevelopment projects focusing on the revitalization of old towns via mixed-use developments, Nack Development knows that a healthy downtown is key to a strong sense of community. With locally owned restaurants and shops, a beautiful backdrop, friendly locals, a touch of artsy quirkiness and loads of character, this collaborative developer captures the approachability of a place to deliver a reinvented idea of the small, southern downtown.
